Epic Fires Back at Silicon Knights' Lawsuit

Large Games will be "fully vindicated" in the trial to limit whether it did not adequately support licensees of the Unreal Engine.

We reported today that Too Anthropoid-maker Silicon Knights Prexy Denis Dyack is excited to pursue his causa against Epic Games for misleading its customers about what the Celluloid Engine could behave. Dyack claims that Epic provided sub-standard code while the company continued knead on Gears of War. After some companies filed several motions to dismiss the others' claims, a evaluator has ruled that most of the evidence has merit and should be heard by a panel to determine. Dyack sees that as a victory – "We are very sure the panel will see the truth behind Epic's actions," he same. Epic Games has chosen to respond publicly to Dyack's comments by pointing out the reigning is in no way an indication of Epic poem's guilt, only that a judge ruled that a tribulation was necessary. "Happening March 24, 2011, the federal tourist court in the lawsuit between Silicon Knights and Epic Games consummated its regnant happening the parties' summary judgement motions to throw out each other's claims without a trial," the statement read. "Allowing those claims to move forward to a panel is not a ruling on their merits. The court simply concluded that the disputed evidence should embody heard and solved by the jury."

The assertion also sharpened extinct that the court ruled in favour of of Epic on individual claims. "The romance entered judgment in favor of Epic along several claims, rejecting Silicon Knights' claims that it could invalidate its license agreement, that Epic interfered with its contractual relationships with publishers, and that Epic has acted unjustly under the license."

"The court had previously rejected Si Knights' motion to summarily dismiss Poem's claims against it and upheld Poem's right to present every last of its claims to a jury, including claims that Si Knights breached its license agreement, stole Epic's applied science and infringed Epic's copyrights," the statement read.

"Heroic remains confident that it will be fully vindicated at trial."
